​Meltham Wildlife Rescue could not run without the help of its volunteers.


We have a trusty team of volunteers who keep the wheels oiled for us. Without their help Meltham Wildlife Rescue, would not be able to take in the amount of casualties that we do and we as a family are only too grateful and aware of this. 

 
Help is always needed. Volunteers are required!

Volunteering Opportunities

Rehabilitating injured and orphaned wildlife  

  • Volunteers have to be 14+. There are no exceptions. There is no upper age limit
  • We have morning (9:30-1:00pm) positions and evening positions (4:30-6:30pm*) *This varies with daylight hours 
  • All volunteers must be pigeon friendly
  • Volunteers must be self motivated 
  • Please note the majority of work is cage cleaning and helping with general chores. Youth volunteers must appreciate this is not a position where feeding baby animals is undertaken by volunteers on a regular basis
  • We accept Duke of Edinburgh Volunteers and times can change be flexible for you to gain your award. If you are DofE please contact us 
  • We accept volunteers who are also part of other award schemes run by college and education establishments
